Monday night, the store I worked for closed. I was informed it was going to be closing three days before it happened.

The store still had a long while left on it's lease, but my boss had no more money to keep it running, so we broke lease. (illegal!)

I went to the store Monday night with two of my friends to help my boss move everything that wasn't bolted down out of the store and into a moving truck. It took us about 7 hours and we were there until about 3:30am hauling very large freezers and various other equipment through the mall and out of the loading dock.

If security had stopped us to ask what we were doing, we were planning to tell them that we were getting new equipment in the morning so all the stuff had to be moved out, but security passed us multiple times and said nothing to us.

The next morning I was a complete zombie. Sad over the loss of the best job I've ever had, full of aches and pains from 7 hours of lifting, pushing, and pulling, and very sleep deprived from waking up way to early. (I already hadn't been sleeping well since my boss informed me he was closing.)

I went to the mall Tuesday afternoon to see what had become of our store. The lights were on inside and security had put a giant white tarp just beyond the gate so no one could see it was empty.

I wonder what will happen from here. Due to the circumstances corporate is supposed to come down to the store and re-equip it and keep it running for the remainder of the lease. That or sell it to someone else to do that in their place. Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to reopen that store.

Either way, I am now on the job hunt once again. I am hoping to find a job where I can make things like a bakery or pastry shop. I do so love making things. Wish me luck.
